Ravenswood is a beautifully landscaped apartment complex with both townhomes and apartments. The buildings are older, but the managment has tried to keep them maintained, and in working order. The rent has increased each year, which is unfortunate. A mix of families, singles, elderly, college students, and young professionals live in Ravenswood--quite an interesting mix. The community is usually quiet. The only noise problems I have experienced have been a carpool honking for their rider at 6am, and groups of young adults who I don't think even resided at Ravenswood who would take over the already small pool (Summer of 2002). The management is effective and pleasant. Maintenance is timely, and usually takes care of any problems on the first attempt. Both the laundry facility and pool area are small, but it is usually not difficult to be able to use and enjoy both facilities. You should know that the apartments are at the edge of a small woods, and you will sometimes spot racoons, deer, and chipmuncks. Every spring, a few ducks think that they have found a vacation spot, and will swim around in the pool before the start of the summer. Also, the parking lot is freshly tarred each Spring. You should also know that a 4th of July parade takes place every year, so be prepared to watch it, or stay in your apartment until lunchtime. I have enjoyed living in Ravenswood. If you are thinking about living in Ravenswood, be prepared for improvment changes and an evolving resident population, as the first year, most apartments were rented, but this year Ravenswood seemed to have to work to get the apartments rented, as a lot of residents seemed to move out this year. It has been a pleasant living experience with Ravenswood.
