Years at this apartment: 2002-01-01 - 2003-01-01
Maintenance: Where are they' If youre like our upstairs neighbor with a clogged sink you can probably find them in our apartment.
Maybe they just never got their ABCs quite memorized.
Good luck getting them to show up, fix anything and if they do happen to do something youll never get a copy of the work order for it.
During our tenancy they managed to tack on a "we used way too much $$ paying for your heat last winter" bill on.
Might not have been received so poorly if they hadnt mailed it out the following JULY!!!
Kiss your deposit good-bye.
Even if you maintain a very clean apartment you will still almost certainly be charged for its being cleaned after you move out.
Thats $125 charge, and another $80 if you dont have your carpet steam cleaned prior to move-out.
Granted most of the carpeting is so decrepit that cleaning it thouroughly would leave you with carpet padding and a couple o threads.
When I moved out they even tried to tack on charges more than 30 days after my lease ended.
When I pointed out Section 5321.16 of the Ohio Revised Code which states they have 30 days only to charge me I was told by the main office "Weve been doing this for 35 years, I think we know what were doing".
Only after I contacted the Fair Housing Hotline 330-376-6191, who advised me to go to small claims court where I would almost certainly be awarded double damage did they finally back down.
Office Management: Not always in the office as the manager has to run multiple properties, slow returning phone calls and if you try to do as "Worst Apartment Imaginable" recommends and attempt to get anything in wrinting they wont do it.
We moved here because the rent was reasonable, the balconies were large and the view of the lake was good.
We planned on being here at least 4-5 years while saving for a house.
After 2 years were completely fed up.
Dont put yourself through the hassle, its cheaper to take a photo of the lake and run!
12-1-03 One addition, the office manager did stop by after the initial posting to discuss any issues.
That was a nice personal touch, but as was discussed most of the issues seem to be with maintanence and the main office.
One decent person cannot change so many indecent policies, but thank you for trying.
