I liked the Tallmadge Oaks setting, and Tallmadge in general. However, I had a special situation in that I wanted to move into an apartment in June and I wasn't sure whether or not my fiance would be moving away to school until August, in which case I'd want a larger apartment if she stayed. I explained this to management and they told me that it would be no problem and I'd be able to switch with no fee and resume my lease in another unit if she didn't move away. In early August it didn't look as though she'd be moving so I went down to the office and they SHOWED me a two bedroom and we talked about a switch and then a few weeks later they were obstinate to the idea saying I'd have to pay like two hundred dollars or something to transfer. Needless to say that was the main reason I moved out.
Also, the apartments are pretty nice but the plumbing in the building is LOUD. You will hear all of your neighbors running their water or flushing their toilets at all times of the day and/or night.
The apartments are also very cheaply made with a toilet paper holder in the shower as a "soap dish" I mean, come on, give me a break.
There were some positives though. Parking was excellent, Tallmadge itself is a lovely community, and the residents in the building are very nice.
One last thing to note, I had a very odd experience with a maintenance man. Apparently he lived above me and heard my exhaust fan running one night and he thought it sounded broken. One night I am sitting around with my fiance watching a movie at like 6pm and there is a knock on the door. The guy is like "I heard your exhaust fan last night it sounds broken I'm going to go in and fix it." I was like I could use some notice and now is not the time, besides, I haven't noticed anything wrong with it. And he's like "I'm a maintenance man here" and proceeds to try and come in to strut to my bathroom and fix it. I stopped him and told him in no uncertain terms that I would NOT allow him to just come whenever he wanted and he proceeded to tell me that he'd come back the next day. When I told him I'd be gone he was like "that's ok, I have a key". Again I had to tell him I was not ok with maintenance in my apartment while I was away and I never saw the guy again. Needless to say, however, it was a very disturbing encounter.
