Don't bother...

I lived at Park Club with my roommate for a year back in 2006. Overall, the stay was ok, but there were alot of signs that should have sent us running. We viewed the apartment we were going to rent a month in advance, to find out the day of moving that they moved us to a different unit because the previous renters decided to stay. Because we had already started moving, we were pretty much out of luck on choosing something else or waiting. The unit they moved us to was not nearly as nice, had LARGE stains on the carpet, and several other damages that were never fixed. Management was a pain to work with, and maintenance was alright.

Our neighbors had several children who would run up and down the stairs at 7 am and wake us up, we contacted management several times, who did not help.

As we were getting ready to move out, they told us that we hadn't properly informed them that we weren't going to renew our lease, and we would be liable for 1 1/2 months rent (which we did let them know, in person..but it was never clarified that they wanted a written notice. It eventually became a legal matter.

After we moved out, I head from an old neighbor that there was a stabbing on the grounds due to gang violence'

But what takes the cake is that they sent my roommate a collections notice, over a year after we left for unpaid damages to our unit (she never received any sort of communication previously). They charged us for cleaning (I personally steam cleaned every room twice, and I brought in several people to deep clean every surface), and other silly charges, which wouldn't have bothered me if they had rented us the apartment in a better condition in the first place. Not to mention, because it was over a year later, we had no proof otherwise.

Don't bother. The places aren't that nice, and you could pay just as much somewhere else for a better and more updated unit.

Ummmm, you steamed clean the carpets twice and brought in a crew to clean it, really? My thoughts on the kids is did you talk to the parents? What was the leasing people going to do, was it thier kids?

Yes really. I didn't say crew, I said several people (meaning family and friends) and yes I did steam clean twice. Is that abnormal? My roommate spoke to the mother. And they could have at least asked them to be quiet. It's not like I expected them to be evicted, but we were paying just as much as them to live there, we deserved sleep too. Anything else?
