We rented this apartment after seeing an impressive, upgraded model, and we thought we were getting a steal! After reading some of these reviews, however, we hesitated to sign the lease before seeing our actual unit. We were able to do a quick walk-through, at which time we determined what needed to be addressed. In short, it appeared that nothing had even been cleaned. Very basic issues (i.e. batteries in the smoke detector) were not even addressed. The staff--from their smoky, nicotine-laden office--assured us everything would be taken care of. When we moved in, we were sorely disappointed--the water damage, outdated appliances, leaky windows, and stained flooring were still there. Even though we have asked numerous times, the staff has continued to half-ass our concerns. In addition, the neighborhood has proved to be non-conducive to work schedules. The tenants in a neighboring unit enjoy partying in the courtyard late at night/early in on weekday mornings. The police were recently dispatched to another of the neighboring units, where the tenant was apparently having an alcohol-induced mental breakdown. And if you don't appreciate dog crap on your shoes, I'd probably stick to the blacktop. The volleyball and tennis courts are a JOKE! Although you have to be wary of everything on these apartment rating sites, I strongly encourage you to demand that you see your actual unit BEFORE signing a lease. Also, walk around the property and ask tenants how they feel. Hopefully you won't make the same mistake we did.
