otherwise they will charge you for anything and everything that is by law considered normal wear and tear. Take pictures and/ or videotape. Of course they will not offer a walk through when you turn in your keys and if you do not know to ask you are out of luck. The management is very shady. I paid my rent on time, kept my apartment clean and shampooed the carpets every three months and was charged to completely replace the carpet. When I called back for proof that it was that dirty I was told that it had already been replaced and when I asked ----- if she had seen it she said "well, no, but my maintenance man did" She had no proof she just wanted free carpet from someone that she knows cares about their credit and pays bills on time.
When I lived there our car was broken into along with countless others, it was an ongoing thing. There were drug dealers everywhere, two were busted in one week on our street alone. If you rent from this place read up on ohio laws and protect yourself and keep your cars in the garage.

It is amazing that they would charge you for everything and anything since they dont do a good job after a previous tenant moves out poor painting jobs could still see marks on carpet as if someone had just left.

you don't have pay for these rediculous fees that landlords charge upon moving out. I stayed at a nice place for only 30 days while I had to wait for my house to be finished. I did not use the oven at all, but they sent me a bill for $200 to clean the oven and replace the oven door. The bill also included $400 for fresh paint. That was absurd because I lived alone, no pets, no kids, no parties, no nothing. I only used the refrig and the shower, nothing else for 30 days, but they were trying to squeeze me for crazy fees. I refused to pay them one dime. They kept sending me notices but I knew it was too expensive for them to take me to court to try to collect only $600 ... and I knew the judge would probably be on my side in this kind of situation. Even if it did ever appear on my credit report, this is easy to explain to a lender. As long as you do not have a pattern of not paying your debts, then these landlord issues will not prevent you from getting a loan. Don't let these crooks push you around.
