It's Worth More Money To Not Live Here

Remington Station offers the largest amount of space for the least amount of money, so you can imagine the types of people this place attracts. People let their 10 year old kids run around after dark without supervision, there was dog poop everywhere (including my door knob, yeah my neighbors were real gems) and there was always something wrong with the apartment. I will admit, maintenance fixed things quickly and they were the nicest people you'll ever meet, however I would rather pay more money for an apartment and not have my ceiling leak... twice! Or my windshield bashed in in the middle of the night, or as previously mentioned, coming home after a long day at work to find my door knob is covered in dog poop.

This apartment is in Westerville, but it's Columbus streets so the area isn't patrolled very often. I didn't feel safe here after dark; one night some drunken idiot was walking around randomly yelling at the top of his lungs. We also witnessed a boy holding his dog on the ground and repeatedly punching him. There was also a drunk driver who spun out of control and hit a light pole waking us up in the middle of the night. The alarm at the clubhouse went off in the middle of the night quite a few times, which says someone is up to no good. The dumpster had been lit on fire to the point where the fire trucks had to come out. I frequently found dogs just running around off-leash, which isn't safe for the dog or for people walking around (the dog could be mean).

I realize these things can happen anywhere, however I don't think it's a coincedence that these things happened in the same area all within 6 months. The neighborhood is bad and the apartments are old. Spend a few hundred bucks more to live in a place where you don't have to deal with these things. Or buy a house, it's a much better investment.

Lived here?

This is a total scam as far as a review. I have lived here 3 years in 2 different layouts at opposite ends of the community. I have a car outside and inside the garage, and I have a 6 year old. This neighborhood is quiet, safe, patrolled, and there have been very few if ANY incidents to my knowledge of rash breakins, vehicle vandalism or burglary, drunken drivers, or any other public nuisance. This IS nesstled within the Little Turtle community. Yes it may be lower priced than other developments in this community, but it is not the crime ridden H*ll hole this person describes.

I feel the review is a little extreme but definitely points out the flaws of this community. I had lived here 18 months and am contemplating living here again. The trash system is not great and usually there is a river of foul-smelling liquid after the truck goes through, the kids in the community appear to operate unchecked at all times, people are not good with pets and usually never clean up after themselves oftentimes utilizing the overgrown sloped areas for "walking" the dog to mask the mess, parking disputes can lead to problems (I have received several door dings from one residents work van), and traffic through the area is usually speeding. If you are spending most of your time indoors or renting here primarily for a place to live, it is pretty nice. If you are looking for a nice community, it is probably not the best place.

I lived in Remington from 1996 until 2008 and only moved because we bought a place. I noticed that we had a 2-3 year period where car windows were being smashed in and then when another complex went under new ownership our issues with this seemed to stop. This area is typical of any neighborhood you have some who just don't care about their environment and others who are meticulous. Children have so much area to play in but there is no play equipment therefore "most" of them use their imaginations and play ball, fighting games, and such. The dog waste situation along with parking were my only complaints, some just never seemed to pick it up. The trashcan situation could have been monitored better especially since most folks used their garage for storage, the cans could have been placed in the garage by the end of trash day or the next day at the earliest. Remington is under new ownership so it will be interesting to see what changes they make. I really did love living there and we went the extra step to make it "our" home and not just an apartment.
