Pick up your trash - and someone else's, too!

City of Columbus does trash pick up from large city-owned green containers with an automated truck. Residents leave containers out near the street where they can be knocked over - especially during windstorms. This leaves a HUGE mess throughout the "neighborhood" as garbage blows all over. Very few - if any - of my lovely neighbors come out to pick up their messes. I take pride in my apartment, taking my garbage container into the garage until the morning of trash pick up, but this does not stop me from having to pick up other people's trash out of my front yard and garden area. I should mention, though, that these containers are so big that it's nearly impossible to have one of them in your garage AND park your car in there, too. However, it would be nice if the neighbors exhibited some sort of pride in their homes and picked up their crap. We've lived here nearly four years. I'm done and am looking elsewhere.

I would agree with you. More people that are moving in just dont care any more. I dont think the staff cares on who they let move in dog crap all over the place some areas will stink in the middle of the summer due to so much dog crap. Not only they need to pick up their own garbage but those who have dogs need to pick up after them. I feel bad for those who mow the lawn.
