so far so good (pros and cons)

I moved in almost a year ago, and had some concerns prior to moving in because I had visited this site. I still decided to move in because of the space, price and location. The office staff provided very open & candid answers to my questions & concerns. They have always been pleasant & they know me by name. I have not received anything but 100% professionalism from the staff.
I had my choice of several different locations to select from. I walked through my apartment before I signed my lease, and was very satisfied. The apartment I looked at initially was a good representation of what my apartment looks like - nothing more, nothing less.
I have nice neighbors & have had no issues with regards to my neighbors. We are not very social, but we know our neighbors on a first name basis. My area is quiet.
As far as the apartment itself goes, it offers a lot of space & an attached garage. We could not find anything comparable in Westerville.
I do wish the fixtures were a little more updated, but I am a realist; I know that for the price I pay & the size of my townhouse, the value is good. There are other complexes that offer more bells and whistles, but I would also pay a lot more, too. Crown molding, a garden bath tub and two inch blinds just aren't worth it to me.
As far as service goes, I have had to ask for repairs several times. Every time I have asked for repairs, they have been completed correctly and quickly. I typically send an e mail & I have always received a response back via e mail, asking for further information if needed, and then maintenance comes out shortly thereafter. The only return trip was to install a hot water tank. The maintenance staff made me aware of the replacement delay, so I was ok with this. For the age of the apartments, I think that the things that have needed to be repaired are within reason.
The snow removal service was fine this year. During the blizzard earlier this month, I saw workers on bobcats out very early in the morning. (I saw them around 8 a.m.; by the looks of things on my street, they had been at it for some time). The streets were cleared & salted in a timely manner/repeatedly & walkways were also cleared. I think the snow removal service was as good as anything the City of Columbus provided, if not better. The only thing they did not do was load snow on to trucks and haul it away - I highly doubt that anyone expected that.
There are several large hills here; but there are also buildings without hills leading to them. Make sure you look at the locations available; parking is also different - some areas give you an assigned spot & some do not.
The thing I hate & wish could be changed are the trash cans. We have our own can which is great - this is very convenient & the City picks up the trash one time per week, curbside. However, the majority of the cans are always left outside of the garages. I agree with the person who complained about trash blowing around; the cans themselves are a huge eyesore.
In summary, my expectations have been met or exceeded; I will be renewing my lease for another year. After that, I plan to buy a house.
