not safe; apathetic management

We lived at Silvertree back in 2002. On our last summer, our apartment got robbed, along with several other units that same day; they stole about $2,000 in various goods.
We talked to the management and told them we didn't feel safe and wanted to know our options on ending the lease early. They said it wasn't their problem.
I heard from the police that whoever robbed the other units only stole guns; it seems to me that whoever robbed the units knew exactly what was in them and we couldn't figure out how they broke in, so I wouldn't be surprised if this was an inside job.
In my opinion, Silvertree is not safe and the management doesn't give a rat's a**. It's relatively cheap, but you get what you pay for. Finally, once my girlfriend woke up with a giant cockroach walking over her.
