All the complaints on this site shocked me...I've lived here for three years and I love it! Then I noticed that all the complaints are from 2004, probably from tenants who came here when the place was a sh--hole. A Willowick police officer recently asked me if I liked it here, and I said I do. He said the new company has made a major turnaround on the property because the cops used to be out here two or three times a day. Sure, you could go to a property with a 24-hour security guard, but ask yourself why they need security in the middle of the day. Some of the older residents like to sit and talk in the lobby, and that's a good sign--I've lived in a couple of apartments and you don't want to live in a place where the older residents are afraid to leave their apartment.
Anyway, Shoregate is great for the money, has a terrific view, and is the Goldilocks of highrises--big enough to have amenities like a fitness center and laundry area and pool, but small enough so you don't get lost in the shuffle. I've only had one maintenance issue and it was fixed the next day, and sometimes you can hear your neighbors but nothing to keep you awake. I order a lot of things from Amazon.com and I've received everything I've ordered, so I don't know what the issue was with the person who lost packages--the business center is a lifesaver for me. The owners are progressively going through the property making updates and your carpet and appliances will either be brand-new or less than three years old. The parking lot can get icy in the wintertime, but if it's a problem you can get underground parking. I don't drive, so I walk to Giant Eagle a couple of blocks away and Wal-Mart is a three-minute bus ride. The same 1 bedroom apartment would cost me $900 downtown so I'm thrilled to be living in Lake County. Please give the property a chance and don't believe all the BS from the grouchy reviewers, because it's a great place to live.

My name is amanda and ive been reading some of the reviews on this board and i have to admitt that im kinda of leary of what i may be getting mysrlf into. i will be moving in next week and to the eye it seems awsome.ive noticed that all the bad reviews came from 2004 and years befor that and recentlt from 05 to now everyone on the rewiew board sems to be pleased with the new rentovations and changes. i was wondering about the neighbor hood and if cops still go there alot and what it is like after dark and so on noone has really said anything about it so if any one has the information i want please let me know befor next week wen i sighn the lease email sweet_gal_2391@yahoo.com if u want to call me u can ask for my number on my email. thank you
