Decent for the price, but management company is crap

The main thing this complex has going for it is location - it's on a street that's off the main drag but close to shopping and an easy commute to most places in Boardman/Canfield and downtown Youngstown. The buildings are secured and guests have to be buzzed in - if someone hasn't propped a door open, as happens in summer.
Other than that:
Expect to hear every noise your neighbors make. The walls are paper thin. Try to be on the top floor if at all possible - if you end up on one of the other floors and have someone who works 2nd or 3rd shift above you - or they're a particularly heavy walker expect your sleep to be interrupted regularly. Also, if you have someone below you who likes things very warm...well, don't put your shorts away in the winter. You'll need them for the sauna-like atmosphere that develops.
Air conditioning is horrid - in the 1 bedroom unit there's a wall unit in the living room, but nothing in the bedroom, and the air does not flow well from room to room. So be prepared to set up an arrangement of fans that may or may not move the cooler air from the living room to the bedroom so you can sleep when it gets hot and muggy.
The laundry rooms in each building are crap. They've replaced the washers (though residents damage them fairly quickly), but the dryers don't dry well at all - if you use them, expect to use $3.00 just to dry one load or go across the street and do your laundry there. The management company would do better to outsource the laundry facilities in these buildings to a company that would actually keep them working. Or buy actual commercial washers and dryers rather than consumer ones that don't deal with the volume of laundry well.
The property looks nice on the outside - but some aspects of the property need some serious help. Leaky walls and old appliances. The kitchens are tiny with very little counter space - if you like to cook this is not a good place to live. There are no dishwashers, at least in the 1 bedrooms, which is probably good since I'm not sure the pipes could handle it.
There have been at least 3 managers in the time I've been here, and in the last approximately 5 months there have been 3 assistant managers. The current manager is irritating - I get the feeling she's all about keeping apartments full but doesn't really care overmuch once the people are in them. I don't know the newest assistant manager yet, but since she can't even be bothered to say hello when I see her in the parking lot, I'm not overly impressed.
Overall it's an ok place - while you look for somewhere else. Go in with your eyes open and you probably won't be disappointed, but don't expect it to be as perfect as the people in the office will try to tell you it is.
