I moved to the Boulevard Club with my husband April 2008 when I first moved out of my parent's house. The location is great, you can walk to Giant Eagle or Hobby Lobby. Los Gallos, a great Mexican restaurant, is right across the street. You are pretty much in the center of Boardman.
The on-site management staff is great. They are always polite and respond quickly. The very few times we've had maintenance issues, someone is sent out within a few hours. I'd give on-site management 5 stars.
Now for the rest. The kitchen cabinets are metal. They are slowly trying to upgrade the apartments to wood as residents move out. But if you are renting around June 2009, expect to have metal cabinets. The counter space also severely lacks. I was told my apartment has an additional "island" that other apartments don't have -- I can't imagine how much worse it would be without it.
Some nights you will come home and there will virtually be no parking. Weekends are the worst. Blvd Club would benefit from making a "guest" parking lot. Sometimes you have to park at another building because the lots get so full. Also, watch out when the snow plows come through in the winter. They block you in and put stickers all over your windshield. It's ridiculous.
The noise level is the entire reason why we are moving. We are on the top floor, end unit. The neighbors to the side of us bang on the walls and scream/fight constantly. I have been woken up at least once a month by my neighbor's loud snoring. I am not exaggerating at all. I'd advise putting your bed away from the wall that you share with your neighbor, or you will hear E V E R Y T H I N G. The neighbor below us throws house parties, like the crazy parties you see in movies. He blasts his surround system into all hours of the night. You can complain, it stops the noise for awhile, but they always start again. The kids down the hall are drug dealers, and a few residents have dogs, which you are NOT ALLOWED to have.
The 1 bedroom apartments are very small. If you have more than 2 people living with you, forget it.
It isn't the worst place in the world, but don't expect to spend your entire life there - you will lose your mind from the noise and other random BS that goes on in that place. Tenants never follow the rules on their lease, they can get away with about anything as long as they pay rent. Sell drugs, have a dog or cave in the ceiling with your surround sound system. It's all allowed at the Boulevard Club.
