I'm ending my first year here.
I really only have negatives to list, but it really wasn't all that bad....
This was my first apartment, so I don't have much to compare it to...but!

When it rains, the water runs off the roof, and pours onto my door. After it rains, the key won't fit the lock, and it has to be oiled to work.

One day I came back from a trip, and the entire outside wall of my apt, had fallen off (while it was raining). They patched it while it was still wet. So the inside stayed wet, the inside wall started to sag a bit, and the door frame no longer is attatched properly.

The door hasn't really closed properly since I've lived here, four trips by maintenence, and one try by a neighbor, and it closes if you pull it just right.

All the nice cars in the complex just got keyed. A nice deep scratch all the way through the paint.

The electric stove is from the mid 70's they said they were replacing them one by one, but umm, they're not replacing them.

Water, trash and heat were paid for by the apt when I moved in. However, at the end of the lease, you get this tiny little note that says if you renew, you have to pay for it in the future, PLUS back pay from April. Uh huh. That's pretty wrong.

The complex next door has terrible crime, and there are ALWAYS cops there. (but there's a fence inbetween us)

Don't go to the 7-Eleven on 16th street. We've dubbed it the "murder 7-11" People get stabbed on the street, and stumble to their parking lot, to call 9-11

Out of the 8 units in my building. 4/8 were occupied when we moved in. All but one of those are gone now, and 2 units have moved in and out in that time. Currently 68 are occupied (including me) but I'm moving far, far away. Only 1 original neighbor will be left.

There are no bugs or mice, etc. However, they claim they spray once a month, but they've only sprayed once in the 13 months I've lived here.

Parking is ok. However, if you come home late, like after 10pm, you have to drive all the way around the complex, and back to the front, to park behind your building. There's only one entranceexit.

There is no mail slot at all for outgoing mail. For a while you could take it to the office, but the new manager won't let you. So to the post office it goes.

But, it's really not *that* bad here. But I wouldn't recommend it.
