I've lived in many cities and many apartments. Some were nice and some were dumps but this is by far the worst place I've lived in. I've only been here for a month but it hasn't started out well. They showed us an apartment that was real nice and put us in one that is falling apart. The paint job that was just done is sloppy. There is still tape on the doors. There are cockroaches crawling out of my ears. Nothing works properly. The appliances are in terrible shape and quite ancient. The sink isn't anchored to the counter, it just slides all over the place. The towel rod in the bathroom is just barely connected to the wall, it was apparantly torn out of the wall and glued back on with PAINT!!! "Nice gated comunity. . ."' The gates are always open, they never close, even if they did, there is no way to get into them, you'd have to call the office, get someone to come out and unlock them, and then they charge for "after hours opening"!! There's always trash laying outsidie, by the mailboxes, everyone just throws their junk mail on the ground or ontop of the mail boxes, and noone picks it up, except for good samaritans like us. I'm not saying WE are the perfect tenents, but there are some pretty shady characters here, too. We've called the office with problems and not once have they returned our call, even just as a courtesy! I walked into the laundry room the other day and it looked like it has never seen the business end of a mop. I don't dare use it. The electricity is included in the rent, I guess they have to bribe people to move in here. Don't be a sucker like us and stay out of Hell's Kitchen!!

Your experience sounds unfortunately typical. I have a good friend who lives there, and she says the same thing and worse! Water leaks into her kitchen like a flood. They won't do anything about it. Black mold is growing on the pantry walls. It's a pit. Good luck and my sympathies!
