Well, I've been here at the Links for 6 months now. This is my first apartment I have ever had so I wasn't sure what I was getting into. I moved here mostly because I like Bixby alot and it's close to where I work. The only issues I have had maintenance wise, got fixed the same day I requested so I can't complain there. As far as the bad stuff I have dealt with, if you don't like to hear EVERYTHING from your neighbor, don't move here. You can literally hear your neighbor use the bathroom as you are in your own. I had a friend over one night and he got sick and I got a NOISE complaint because he was vomitting and the neighbors complained. Sorry, but it's not my fault the walls are paper thin. I got the cops called once because I was simply standing outside b.s.ing with a friend of mine who was over and the cops even said that this place is made sh**y and people can hear everything you do and to not take it personally. (Which was a shock to me they were so nice)My situation is a little different from everyone else's on the lease itself. I was in a VERY emergency situation and had to get out from where I was so I was in a quick hurry to find a place. Of course, they were not taking applications until March and I needed in back in January. A girl had an ad to get out from her lease for personal reasons so I took it over. She had only been there a few months. What I don't understand is they treat me VERY different from everyone else who signs the lease from the start date. I pay rent just like anyone else that lives here. I had no idea how to get to the pool, where anything was, where the mail was, ANYTHING, only because I took over someone's lease and they didn't bother with showing me any hospitality. I agree with the post about the management being the most disorganized bunch I've ever seen and I also agree about the fees coming from every angle. I personally had no idea about the auto draft until long after I moved in so that was a surprise to me and I think it's ridiculous. Had I known before, I wouldn't have moved in. I don't always get paid on the same day, so it's hard to have something automatically drafted out of my account. I've had a "cig butt warning" put on my door 475 times and I don't even smoke. Get after the people who smoke and leave me alone. I'm not one of them and I'm not picking up butts that don't belong to me. Period. They are pissed at me because I haven't bought a terracota pot for cigs to be put in, sorry, but again I DO NOT SMOKE. I believe for the price, they could replace the stove and dishwasher that are out of 1981. As far as the washer and dryer, mine are both brand new and have never had an issue, so I can't complain there. I was one of the "lucky" ones who got put on the golf course side and it is a HUGE hassle to carry groceries and what not in when you have to walk clear around the other side AND upstairs on top of that, but that is something I didn't really think about moving in. As far as the gate goes, they just recently started locking it at 10 pm and opening at 6 am, which defeats the purpose of having a gate when people you invite over already know the code because it hasn't changed in YEARS and everyone has the same code. Don't charge and advertise a "gated community" when it's rarely shut and everyone and their mom knows how to get in anyways. The post about people coming over only a few times I totally agree with. My sister stays with me sometimes on the weekends just to get away and I've been told she doesn't need to be. I'm sorry, but she isn't living with me and she is my SISTER, I pay rent every month, on time and I'll be damned if someone dictates to me who I can have over and how many times. Last time I checked, I am a grown ass woman. About the only thing I am very grateful for is the pool. It's pretty nice and a pretty good size so the fact they have only one for the ENTIRE community isn't too bad. I believe when my lease is up in October, I am going to be moving out. I have a feeling they are going to try and screw me because when I moved in, I took a picture and mentioned to them the girl before me had put a hole in the door in the bedroom from moving furniture. The girl who I took over said that they had put a $200 deposit down and I wasn't putting one down so it should be taken out of it if I do decide to move. I have a feeling they are going to try and hit me with fees for replacing it and what not because I was not the one who put the deposit down. I've documented everything so if they do, they will be in for their money. They aren't the most friendliest bunch ever, so make sure you don't have many run ins with them if possible. Also watch out when backing out of your parking spot that you don't get killed. The posted speed of 10 mph that they talk so highly of, isn't followed for crap. I've been almost ran off the road because I was driving slowly and people literally fly passed me in the mornings doing around 45-55 mph through the complex which is ridiculous. Overall, my experience hasn't been that bad YET, and for my first, it could be worse I assume.

I went by recently to look at the apartments with my boyfriend and the woman that "helped" us acted similar to how you describe. She was completely repulsed that we were living together not married and was just all-around snotty, like we weren't wanted there. It's too bad, they were very nice for the cost and if she hadn't been so rude we probably would have rented there.
