I've lived at these apartments for about 4 years (my husband and I just started saving for our first home's down payment!) At first, the manager seemed rude and strict and it was probably because they thought we were going to be the typical young, noisy, irresponsible couple, but they just want to make sure everyone knows this is a serious place and that guidelines are followed. There are a few things that are written in the tenant handbook that you cannot do, such as exterior decorations, but I found out not too long ago that they don't have a problem with that...which is awesome! The only problem that had to be addressed a few times was a leaking bath faucet, and they always came in to fix it within 1 day.
In my opinion, the reason these apartments are particularly cheaper than the others in town (considering the square footage) is because they're older..the carpet and the layout in general. So, summarizing everything in one line, hmm...lots of room, low-cost rent, on-site management, friendly landlords, 24-hour surveillance--they seem to know everyone's whereabouts haha, but best of all you get a quiet safe living environment. That's exactly what we were looking for.

I agree with you. I too am a resident here and actually liked the fact that the managment couple seemed strict. They are only doing their job, yes these are older apartments so they may not seem as "nice" as one's built later, however these are in great shape considering. My husband and I looked into moving to Tulsa since we both work there, however, even the "newer" and "remodeled" apartments we looked at were not as well kept, neither were the grounds. The floor space was supposedly more, however the layout actually made it seem like less. Safety at the other apartments was a concern, and we looked in the middle of the day during the week. I have no problem with my children playing outside here, wouldn't think of it there. Also the apartments we looked at wanted at least $150 more a month, plus water. All in all, we decided it was worth the commute to stay right here where we know things are taken care of and rent is a good price.
OH! One more thing, in the part of the complex I live in there are quite a few younger couples, some with kids, some without. The only time I have ever had a problem with noise was one night someone had several friends over who left late, like 2am. They were standing by their cars talking, my window is right there. They were not being real loud, but were laughing, and when I went out to let them know and ask that they take it down a bit, before I could ask, they asked me if they were too loud, apologized and took it back inside. No appearent drinking or partying, just friends hanging out...and probably wouldn't have noticed if they weren't telling jokes & laughing. :-) That after living here for over a year. If that's the worse I ever experience...I couldn't be more greatful.
