Spraying for bugs' Yeah right!

My mother and stepfather have been residents of Chapel Ridge for a few years, and they've had so many problems. The major issue is bugs. They supposedly come out and spray for bugs, but all that includes is dropping a drop of some chemical on 3 seperate spots in my mom's kitchen. And guess what, the bugs look at them and laugh - picture the movie 'Joe's Apartment'. The bug spray does nothing, and my mom's apartment has a thousand or so unwanted guests. She's tried taking care of it herself, but she shouldn't have to. My mom is not dirty, she takes out her garbage and tidies up, so the bugs are not her fault. A lot of the bugs, and water (when it rains), come in from the bottom of her front door. She's called maintenance several times to not only fix the bottom on her door (the metal part is gone, and the threshold is missing or something) but to also fix their lock. Their door couldn't even lock for over a week! One of them had to stay home at all times to insure their stuff wouldn't be stolen. They called the office daily to come out and fix the issue, and it must have been swept under the desk. My stepfather finally fixed it himself.
They say it's been a tiny bit better since new management has taken over, but it's still not 100%. Oh, and for the police never being out there - you must not live in the complex if you believe that. The 'riff-raff' do come out at night, and my mom has had to call the police several times herself. I know all apartment complexes have their issues and 'undesirables', but what good does it do to tell the office and have it ignored' SOOOO glad they changed management, because the last few managers totally sucked, and were only in that business for the money - they definitely didn't care about their residents.

We don't supposedly spray, we do. Terminex comes out every month. If people tell us they refuse service we don't go in. This is the situation we ran into with the above complainer. The door lock is an emergency work order. If we are told about it, my maintenance man comes out and fixes it. The door sweep would be put in prioritized order. Door locks, floods, things of this nature would supercede the door sweep. I have been the manager since November and was in the office prior to that. So, for the comment that we ignore situations is untrue, and that change of management would change any of the things listed above is ridiculous. As for the police coming out and "riff-raff", anyone considering living here are encouraged to call the police station and ask about us. I have spoken to the police myself and asked if they come here any more often than the other communities in town. They say less. It is all down to what you will believe. I would love to be able to make people let us in to spray and do maintenance, but we don't live in a police state. I will continue to respect my residents and do what I can to make them happy whether it is appreciated or not.

Saw this post, thought I would add my two cents. I used to be a tenant at this very complex...thankfully I was able to escape before the bugs carried off all of my personal belongings.
Another problem I had with this place, is the smoking. I don't smoke, and I don't like the smell, but it doesn't matter with this apartment. You can smell your smoking neighbors like they are in the room with you.
Several small children were always in the parking lot, unattended. Another issue that needed addressed while I lived there.
I've seen the police out on plenty occasions while I lived there. I didn't feel safe having my kids visit, so I moved out. Too many drunk kids and no security is not a good mix.

They have never refused service on the bug spraying, I can assure you that. Why would they refuse service when they have bugs running around?! THAT is ridiculous, not my statement of facts. And how could you know exactly which tenant was the "above complainer"? My mom told me you don't even live in the complex, so you could not know 100% of what's going on. I understand that you have a lot of responsibility, but what happens happens. You have no control over that, and you can't fix every little thing that comes up. It's impossible. This forum is to express the issues the tenants have with your complex, so that's exactly what i'm doing. I'm not attacking you personally, or even attacking you period, so please don't say that i'm lying about the apartment situation.

I've been making the rounds with the exterminator everytime they are scheduled out. The biggest problem we have are the residents who know we are coming and do not call the office with a reason we should not come in. Instead, they wait until we come to the door to tell us,"Gee ya know this is really a bad time." These residents are hiding their felon boyfriends that the police keep showing up on the property to find. Do something right for yourself. If the boyfriend you are hiding from the cops cannot get a job to help support you and your baby, have some respect for yourself and get rid of that unemployed, no shower takin' saggy pantsed crank ---- and look out for you. What is more, I am always fixing doors that your insecure doper boyfriends kick in.
