Three months left in this hellhole!

Despite all the problems I've had with Oxford Oaks, the worst by far is the office staff. They are rude and condescending when you ask a simple question. Our kitchen floor was caving in, our oven heats unevenly and gets way too hot, we have had bug and mildew problems, and everything is done so cheaply. And, still, my biggest problem is the rude staff.
I am counting down the days until I can move.
This winter I broke my wrist falling down our icy stairs. I told someone in the office about it and they said that ice is considered "an act of God," and that they are not responsible, but when I reviewed the lease it said that they are responsible for keeping the stairways safe. They put me in touch with their insurance agent, after I pointed this out, and the agent clearly subscribes to the same brand of customer service as these morons. My calls were never returned.
This summer we were told that our building and doors were being painted the following week and we would need to put all pets somewhere where they could not escape when the doors were opened. We put our cats away and they never came. I called and said "When are you coming to paint'" and no one ever knew when the painters were showing up. I kid you not, it went on this way for a MONTH until, finally, when I called, I was told "Oh. They decided not to open the doors." In other words, they decided to take a short cut, as per the usual work ethic around there. Have you ever tried wrangling two cats into a bathroom every weekday for a month' I'm lucky I still have any skin left.
Please, don't be fooled by the false positive reviews. I accepted the 50% recommendation rate just because I was sick of looking at places and liked the location and the idea of being able to do laundry in my apartment. It's NOT WORTH IT. I figured that the people writing poor reviews had been bad tenants who were out for revenge. Not true. We always pay our rent on time, and the office staff is still hateful.
Seriously, save yourself the trouble and look somewhere else.

Yeah, the leasing agents are really unpleasant. They're probably hateful just for something to do.
I remember waiting a very loooooooooooonnnnngggg time for the apartments to be painted. The chipping paint was an embarrassment.

It's a little hard to be happy when you are stuck in decidedly unhappy living arrangements for 6-12 months at a time.
I agree with all the negative reviews; I can't wait until my lease is up.
I'm sorry I ever thought living in this apartment complex was a good idea.
The leasing agents have been very rude to me, too.

to Punkrenter83..man you have some issues, I am doing my homework in searching for a new home. I started reading all these threads, & you are scary! I would not want you to be my neighbor. There does seem to be some problems here at this property, however I will keep in mind this is a venting foum...what concerns me the most is ending up having you for a neighbor!

Broken wrist - call a lawyer! It might not be too late to recover expenses, especially due to their ignoring the situation. Record everything.
