My dad lived at Oxford Oaks for about 4 years, and he enjoyed it. He had a problem with his plumbing at one point, and the maintenance guys actually stayed after hours to take care of it - even though it wasn't an emergency. They were always friendly, and did what they could to make sure my dad was happy. Believe me, he wasn't easy to please! He had a handicapped spot right outside his apartment, and it was always open for him to use. The only reason we had to move him out is because he couldn't take care of himself any more, so he moved into a nursing home. If his health hadn't deteriorated the way it did, he probably would've stayed at Oxford Oaks for much longer. (He definitely prefers it to where he's at now!) Overall, my dad and I are very pleased with his stay.

Actually, I am saying a lot. The nursing home my dad is staying in now is rated one of the best in the state. His monthly rent is about 6 times as high as what it was in that apartment. Not to mention that he sincerely is a very difficult person to please! So for him to say that he enjoyed this complex more than any other apartment he's ever been in, really is saying a lot. Even though he has 'round the clock care where he's at now, he still talks about how they don't compare to the kind of service he got at Oxford Oaks. The purpose for my review is to emphasize how refreshing it is to know that my dad was actually happy with one of his homes for once. The staff/maintenance went the extra mile to make sure he was happy. And for that, I want to make sure they're recognized. So when future renters come to this site, they can see that not all experiences are as bad as yours.

There are worse things than this place, but they usually have fire in them... I wish the staff/maintenance members would go the extra mile for me; things are breaking faster than they are getting fixed...
