Avendale Pointe Apartments are not very tenent friendly!!! I lived there from 9/07-6/08. I paid my rent on time, (never late) kept my area clean by planting flowers, sweeping, and picking up other neighbors trash. I kept my apartment extremely clean. The day we moved out, our apartment looked like no one had lived in it. That's how clean my family and I are. On May 29, 2008, we informed Caroline, an office clerk for Avendale Point, that we were going to be moving on post housing. She informed us that it was going to be a 1 months rent penalty upon moving out. She also informed us that since we were breaking our lease, we will not be getting our deposit back. She told us three different times that since June is our last month, we pay June's rent when we leave at the end of June or we also have 30 days after we vacate to pay the last months rent. Transportation picked up our household goods on June 6. On June 13, my neighbor contacted me saying that there was a notice of unpaid rent on my door. I immediately contacted the leasing office and was told that I didn't understand what Caroline was saying to me the day I gave my 30 day notice. Caroline had meant to say that we owe for June, plus an extra months rent. She did not say that to me or my husband!! She is a very confused lady!! So, as good tenents we are, we paid June's rent. Later on that day, we entered our apartment to get some lefteover items that were still there, and noticed that maintenance had been in our apartment!! They had moved stuff around our apartment without permission from my husband or myself to be in there. I told the leasing office and they said that no one was in there. However, the drip pans on my stove were gone. A week later, we went to our apartment and the locks were changed. Mind you, it was still June (june 19) and our lease break was not up until June 30. We went to the office, and Caroline said that since we shut the electric off, we forfeit our apartment our to Avendale Pointe. I told Caroline the day we gave her 30 day notice that the electric was to be turned over on June 11. She did not say anything to me regarding forfeiting the apartment. I will be taking them to court to get my money back that they owe me for June. Do not live there. The office employees have no idea what damm year they are in!!! I think they tell lies to confuse their residents to stiff them out of money. If I was trying to pull a fast one on them and abandon my apartment, why would I give them 30 day notice and pay them for June''''' I will let everyone know what the outcome is after we get out of court.
