Drugs, Break Ins, Terrible Staff, Shoddy Maintenance, Dirty Apartment, And The List Goes On.

Laundry was constantly getting stolen from out of the washers and dryers. The promise of a fitness room was taken away when they changed the locks without warning. Many of the neighbors were known drug dealers. Many windows don't have screens and/or don't work properly. The stove/oven and dishwasher were so old they didn't work properly. The air conditioning/heating unit is a huge eye sore in the middle of the living room wall that is so noisy it makes it nearly impossible to watch TV while operating it. Parking spots are somewhat minimal, with a lot that is difficult to maneuver sometimes. And many of our neighbors had their cars broken in to. Our window had a rock thrown through it and when we called the 24 hour security patrol they didn't respond. The staff was extremely friendly when I was moving in, but then hostile and rude once I was a resident. And extremely rude to me upon move out.

In general Lawton is a ruff and tumble place to live. So shell out the extra bucks for a more secure home, a complex that cares about their residents, and a place that won't make you hate your life. In conclusion, do not move to Avendale Pointe if you know what's good for you.

ONE positive. The convenience to the 52nd street gate (Fort Sill) was great most of the time. But, my husband often drove up Rogers Avenue to the other gates anyway during peak times since the wait to get into that tiny gate didn't make the proximity worth it.
