My daughter rented for exactly 6 months. Finished her initial lease. She was informed that the rent was going up because of the water fee. My daughter opted to purchase a home, which she did. She gave the proper notice and only wanted to stay for 2 weeks until her closing. The complex refused to pro-rate and wanted the entire month. Her father and I moved her out in one day. We cleaned everything - stove, refrigerator, bath area; vaccumed & mopped. So now they want $900 for carpet removal and installation (new carpet when she moved in); electrical work (electric box sparked the whole time she was there); "complete interior clean"; "pet damage" (she had a puppy for 3 weeks which stayed at a friend's house while she was at work), the whole month's rent and all the water fees, too.
