Issue #1: Parking
Parking sucks. Seriously, if you live on the east side, which most do, you will not find parking anywhere remotely near your pad. At first, I didn't mind; I'm not a lazy person and don't mind walking a few extra steps. However, it's a major issue when you're moving in/out, carrying groceries, walking in the rain, running late for work, etc. Parking is especially an issue when safety concerns are addressed. (below) Save yourself the time and don't even bother looking into these apartments. If you're military, spend your hard-earned tax dollars elsewhere; you deserve better. Better yet, if you're military, ask your supply section if you can take home your flak vest and kevlar. Still want to know why' Read on.

Issue #2: Safety *****PLEASE READ THE UPDATE FOR JUNE 2009*****
If you're still reading, you might still be interested. That's fine; I applaud you for doing your research before signing the lease. In this respect, you're way ahead of me when I started looking. Now, the issue with safety: There are apartments directly south of here, literally within about 30 feet, that house gangbangers, dealers, burglars, robbers, prostitutes, pimps, hustlers, cons and wannabes, and they don't mind coming over to start trouble. Remember me writing about living on the east side' Well, parking becomes an issue if you live on the east side, and this greatly affects safety. The east side of the apartments face a fenceline only a few feet away, that's it. (If you're having difficulty imagining this, try visualizing a dark alleyway in a ghetto somewhere - a small space in between the fence and apartments) So, no one is around to witness any trouble when it goes down. Also, the area behind the east side, and around the apartments for that matter, is very poorly lit. Gangbangers PLUS poorly lit areas PLUS inept or nonexistent security PLUS easy route of escape EQUALS trouble.

Issue #3: Maintenance/Upkeep
I just moved in so I haven't experienced any problems with the apartment itself, but I have noticed a few things I don't like about the outside area nearby. Directly infront of my apartment door is a fence that is lying on the ground. I've talked to several neighbors who say it has been like that for months and it doesn't appear the management has any intentions of fixing the downed fence. This is a problem when I walk my dog, who always wants to step over the boards, which contain exposed nails. Also, the grounds near my apartment have no grass, which doesn't do well after a hard rain.

Issue #4: Management
MK (won't use full name, though you can find it in other reviews) generally just has a sh*tty, holier-than-thou attitude. My brother has dealt with her when he rented from another apartment, which she also owns, and he mentioned how she tried to tack on fees and extra costs when he moved out. For example, his apartment would be spotless but she would claim she needed to hire a cleaner to come in, which just happens to cost a few hundred bucks. I've read of simliar types of tack-ons in other reviews.

Issue #5: Location
There's really not a lot nearby, within walking distance. Of course, considering the area's demographics, you probably shouldn't be walking too much anyways. If you're needed to pick up the simplest things, you'll end up having to drive quite a ways. The closest thing nearby is a 7-Eleven...wear your bullet-proof vest.

I totally agree with this, especially the last line about wearing your bullet-proof vest to the nearest gas station. That place is frightening and dangerous. It's like the hot spot for drug dealers. Maintenance is non-existant. We put in a working order a LONG time ago. It never got attended to. We ended up fixing the problem ourselves. The huge windows end up giving you grief with high electricity bills. But the main thing to note about these apartments is the neighboring apartments themselves. The people living there are extremely dangerous, and there is even a registered sex offender living there...someone who was booked for owning objectionable material involving children. Fill in the blanks yourself.

I ALSO AGREE WITH YOU I MYSELF LIVE IN THE EAST OF IT AND THERE IS NEVER ANYWHAERE TO PARK AND I SWEAR HALF THE CARS THAT ARE THERE ARE DIFFERENT ALL THE TIME IVE COMPLAINED TO MANAGEMENT MY LEASE IS ALMOST UP AND I CANT WAIT TO MOVE OUT NOTHING WORKS IN APT MY DRYER MY GARBAGE DISPOSAL ETC AND THEY WONT DO A D--- THING ABOUT IT AND IT IS WAY OVERPRICED

I AGREE TOTALLY WITH THE FIRST AND SECOND RESPONSE, AND TALK ABOUT MARY KAY TACKING ON POCKET MONEY FOR HERSELF IS THE TRUTH... SHE DOEN NOT KNOW THE MEANING OF DEPRECIATION, HER STAFF INCLUDING HERSELF IS UNPROFESSIONAL. THE GROUNDS KEEPER DUDE WITH THE YELLOW TRUCK IF HE IS STILL THERE I NEVER SEE HIM WORKING JUST DRIVING AND STAYING PARKED, AND THE TWO MAINTENANCE MEN ARE ALWAYS WALKING AROUND THE COMPLEX ACTING LIKE THEY WERE BUSY. YEAH SHE MANAGES ANOTHER APT ON RENO,ITS ON THE SAME SIDE AS THE CLEARWATER CARWASH. NOT THE ONE ON THE SAME SIDE OF THE Y CENTER. MARY KAY DOES NOT WANT TO HEAR WHAT YOU HAVE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT SHE IS JUST ABOUT MAKING HER A FEW EXTRA BUCKS FOR HER POCKET. HORRIBLE SIMPLY HORRIBLE... KARMA IS A MUTHA. ONE OF THE MAINTENACE GUY IS PRETTY HOT, (RAY F) ;-) FIND ANOTHER COMPLEX TO WORK FOR.
