Orchard Springs is far from ghetto, especially for Midwest City. Although I'd say it's a little overpriced for what you get, it's a safer place to live than most of the apartments within a 10 mile radius. My uncle lived there a few years back and I now have 2 friends who live there and have never had any problems. The walls are thin, but it is an apartment, if you want complete peace, get a house! I've never seen a roach in the area, so I suppose if you were dirty and brought them from a prior home, then they may migrate. The neighbors are nice and considerate and I've yet to notice any problems with law enforcement and such. Hopefully I haven't jinxed the place now!

Ofcourse everyone is entitled to their own opinion but this is the first one I have ever heard of that gives this place a half way decent rating. This person that posted this review must either be a very nice person or you must have some kind of financial ties to the complex. Here is what I see. Here is what I know to be a fact. Ghetto is a mild word for this place. There have been 2 murders here in the last 2 years and numerous shootings. My neighbors got their car windows and some apts windows shot out by a random shooting. The management has tried to overcharge me 3 times on my rent. I have recieved a notice to pay with late charges 2 times when my rent was actually paid in full those months. All months were paid on time. I was ahead on my rent to be precise about it and they could not even tell me how much a head I was --and this was after giving me a late notice(wow). The staff are very authoritarian in their management skills..In otherwords they are always right. They have told several of us after scary incidents that they can not protect us but it is funny to me when I came to rent this place they acted as everything was like paradise. They do not care about you or your safety as long as they make a buck. To weeks ago a drugged-up man flipped out and literally drove threw the complex. He took out metal park benches, ran through the court yard, demolished a handicapped cement sign and drug it dowm the driveway. He wrecked three of the tenants cars and left them running for their lives for cover. He almost hit them. Some of the police that come out to investigate these activities are very rude. They just act like, oh well, what did you expect..There is always vandalism going on at this property. The gangs continually spray pant our laundry rooms and walls. And they periodically tear out the sheet rock of the walls. Since I have been here I have been ask how much I would charge for sex..So I take it there are other prostitutes here. On several occasions I have been asked to buy crack. My rights have been violated several times here..There is no such thing as privacy...which is included in our constitution. I quit asking anyone to come and see me because I feel it is too dangerous for them here..and when the thugs are not harassing us, the management is. Its like the thugs try to sell my visitors drugs and the management harasses them by asking who they are, what do they think they are doing here. Another thing there gates are a joke. They have been up like a year and they have gotten used a total of like six weeks. someone always drives threw them or lifts them up and breaks them. You can not really blame persons. They are more of a nuisance than a help. They make our visitors show their car titles, licenses, and insurance at the office to come see us. When the office is closed you are just out of luck...I have not had my visitors monitored since I was a kid and even my dad did not ask a guy for his car insurance to come to our house. This would be comical, if, it was not true. I have asked them if I could break my lease and move. They said they would sue me and they would make sure that section 8 would never help me get another place....Isn't this just special...this is just another way the white, capitalist, rich man exploits the people of color, disabled and /or poor. They do not care if our safety is a risk as long as the green keeps coming. They management and owner's do not live here. They live where they are safe. The security guards they sporadically have here are no match for the gangs with guns. They are here to gripe at the people that do not do anything wrong. In otherwords they are here to make the management to look good. The neighborhood behing this complex it gang territory and gangs are waging war over this property..I can prove everything I have stated in the response. I challenged those to disprove what I know to be true. This is an unsafe place for anyone...especially people with kids. Move somewhere else...I say let the gangs have it!!

I completely agree with everything you have said. the cops were called out three times the first week we lived here. There was a girl that got beat up behind our complex, we also witnessed the drugged man that smashed into the park bench by the basketball court. My husband wont let me open the blinds because one night I did that to open the window (because our air conditioner went out 2 days after we moved in and still has not been fixed) and two men that were on the basketball court came up and knocked on the door not even a minute after I walked away from the window. I had my husband open it and they stood there starring at him for a minute and then replied "Oh we must have the wrong address." There have been random gun shots in the late hours of the night. As for the gates, they should knock of 50$ from our rent everymonth for the gas it take to drive around complex and sit and wait for the damn thing to try and open. One of them is busted in half! and they haven't replaced it. To top that off my car was broken into the other night. Oh and the carpet, when we moved in they tried to tell us it was new. It has ciggarret burns all over it and huge brown stains. They are always spraying for roaches, and after we moved in we noticed somthing brown had been smeard on the ceilling and bathroom. (not sure what it was but I'm sure you can figure out what I thought it was) If you are looking for a place to live, do not live here!!!! We are stuck for a year don't sentince yourself to this hell. P.S. THE PIZZA PLACES WONT EVEN DELIVER HERE AFTER DARK!!!!!!!!!!! Call them and ask if you don't believe it

This is so true! I personally do not live in these apartments but i do live in the apartments right in front of them. Over the three years i have lived over here we only had the police here once and that was only because of a medical emergency while "Rolling Ghetto"(thats wat the younger crowd calls it)had police there at LEAST once a week! I have many friends that live in those apartments and all i hear are complants about them! The area around them are not bad at all its just those apartment i cant say for sure if its all the managements felt but i know its the people who dont care about it, and seeing it happen and not doing anything to pervent it. Maybe if everyone who is feel the same way about it get together and do something about it get the news, major, state every newspaper and radio staion and make the management change thier ways!
