Alameda Pointe

They look nice, but are cheaply made. We have to clean out the vacume after each use b/c most of it is carpet peices. The appliances are pretty cheap (plastic bowl cover and seat in bathroom, bathroom fixtures, light fixtures, etc.). The new staff of NorthStar is horrible. They told us they would do touch up to our apt before we moved in, but didnt and they refused to do a walk through with me to make sure it was done. The maintance people do not clean up after themselves and re-arrange the apt and do not put things back. They take about a week to fix things. They have MANY mix-ups in the office (we got an eviction notice by mistake, say they did something but really didnt, and you have to remind them again, and they say oops). They started locking the laundry facility, but waited a few days to tell residents after clothes already got locked in. They stopped accepting packages in the front office, but waited a few days before sending out the news letter to notify people. My biggest complaint is the new management. They are horrible!! If you dont mind dealing with management problems, then the complex is a good one. You are also forced to use cox as a service provider. I personally prefer SBC. I do not like not having a choice for a phone and internet provider. This is more personal preference though.
