Terrible, terrible complex

These apartments could use some serious renovation. The walls are very thin as are the floor/ceilings between upstairs and downstairs neighbors. The only laundry facility on site is above the leasing office. The only way to get there is to go up some very shaky, very slippery stairs.
My main warning about this complex is that they will try every thing they can think of to screw you over once you move. When I signed my lease, the office told me upfront that they automatically keep $60 of your deposit for carpet cleaning. That is pretty shady by itself. Then, after I had been gone for a few months, I got a bill in the mail for ridiculous things like AGING PAINT. Yes, the interior of my old apartment hadn't been painted in five years, so they charged me upwards of $60 for paint and paint-related labor. You really have to hand it to Elite Properties for having the balls to pull that kind of thing. And yes, I paid it, because they threatened to sue me if I did not.
