RUN FROM THIS PLACE

Brookhollow seemed to be a spacious place with nice ammentities and it seemed to be well priced. However, I quickly realized I had made a mistake in leasing here. I had to take legal action to get out of my lease and to get any deposits back. My three bedroom apartment flooded everytime it rained and a piece of the wall actually fell of from being soggy and saturated with water...behind it was black mold. The water was actually coming up from the middle of our living room, dining area, kitchen and the master bedroom. My two roommates and I were told repeatedly that the problem would be fixed but their idea of trying to fix this was to put mud into a crack on the outside wall. This just made the water coming in very muddy. Sometimes if it rained on the weekend, it would take several days to get them to come clean our carpets. This went on for almost a year. The management was extremely rude and pushy.
We also had issues with the maintenance staff. On the rare occasion that they actually showed up within a week of the complaint, they were unprofessional and downright inappropriate. On numerous occasions, we were walked in on by a male member of the maintenance staff while we were in the shower. He would not knock, use the key, and then just walk into our bedrooms or bathrooms...VERY CREEPY. He and another member of the crew tried to get my roommate to smoke pot with them in the maintenance shed. So maybe if you are a pothead this is a good place to score some weed. For everyone else, I would have to say STAY AWAY for your own safety. This is an area of Norman that has high crime rates and this was evident from the number of cars that were broken into on a regular basis and more than one rape has occurred behind the complex on the huge frisbee golf course. The management was defensive and hateful when addressing these complaints and the manager threatened to not give us back our deposits saying that the flooding was out of her control and there was nothing that could be done about it. This is by far the worst place I have ever lived. It is comparable only to situations found in 3rd world countries. Keep looking.
