Not the greatest, don't really miss CT

I lived in CT for a little over two years (recently moved). My move-in was horrific. The apartment wasn't ready when they said it would be, even though I had made several phone calls the week before to follow up. The carpet got shampooed as I was waiting for the key, so the carpets were totally soaked and we had to stack everything in the kitchen and bathroom. Filthy doesn't even begin to describe the condition of the apartment (especially the toilet and fridge). Oh, and there were fleas. Lots and lots of fleas. Apparently their policy is to replace the pad and carpet of any apartment that has pets, but that didn't happen in mine. They sprayed a few times, didn't help. After several weeks and a couple hundred flea bites (totally not kidding) they did replace the carpet and gave us a free month of rent. The next two years were okay. I would STRONGLY recommend that you insist they replace the carpet before you move in. If you push they will, but they don't tend to offer it up front. Maintenence is usually good about taking care of requests within 24 hours. The office staff tends to be fairly ditzy and the owners of the complex are pretty awful in terms of keeping the apartments in good condition. Crime is a problem by the one bedroom apartments -- it is very common for cd players to be stolen out of cars, and other basic car crime. I think it's the same person or persons doing it. A security car drives through once or twice a night, which helped a little. My neighbors were usually quiet, nice. There are a lot of recent college grads, which is fun. They let you paint your walls which is great. That's pretty much all I can think of.
