Okay, there are quite a few reviews about Clarendon so I thought I should add one as well.
Location: The apartments are on a side road off of Lindsey and also Mcgee. Lindsy is a one lane street and is hectic to come and go to the apartment complex from the Lindsey entrance most of the time. It is near several laundromats, barber shops, a grocery store, and a few other places of interest that give it a great location. Also its only a five minute drive to OU depending on the traffic. 5/5
Parking: Parking lots have recently been repaired throughout the complex though there might be a few places where potholes existed. Prior to the repairs, the lots were filled with "tire-eaters" that unfortunately forced me to replace them. It's good to know that those are no longer a problem. The lots themselves actually aren't well-lit and definitely don't feel safe. Some complexes are lit but rather poorly and seem to be sound or motion activated in order to save power but this usually backfires and leaves the lots dark in the worst case. Also spots are a problem. Usually there is just enough room for the tenants but quite often there is a lack of spaces to park at night when most people are asleep. It isn't so much a problem to park a block away but the dark and uneasy feeling of the complex at night can get to you if you don't know better. Also the lots themselves are usually designed for one car at a time so if someone comes or is going, you do have to wait until the other car is gone or parked before you can enter/exit the lot. 2/5
Noise: It really isn't too bad. Living next to Lindsy can be a bit loud traffic-wise if you grab an apartment near the street. Neighbor noise isn't too bad but noticeable. It certainly isn't out of the ordinary and noise from other tenants usually depends on whose next door and can't really be contributed to the management nor complex. I haven't had a problem really, but I know people who have. 3/5
Grounds: Okay. The grounds aren't too pretty. The pool during the off months is not drained but instead left to gather dirt and such. I know they clean it sometimes during these months (I know what a pool looks like when it isn't cleaned for months) but not nearly enough. The hedges often go over the sidewalk and some shrubs have the sharp leaves that can cut you as you walk by so be careful. The laundry rooms inside the complexes (that's usually where they are kept) are not very good. So I just take my clothes to a laundromat a block over by the homeland. The apartments are not great, but its not a total nightmare either. 2/5
Safety: So I already mentioned the lack of outdoor lighting or at least its capacity of failure. I don't really have much of a fear of dark and have excellent night vision so it doesn't really bother me too much but if you feel safer with lights you might want to consider this. Most of the windows are bolt locks. Not the hinges like your thinking but actual screw on locks for the windows. Once removed, the windows cannot lock. The shrubs are sharp at times and can cut a careless passerby. The apartments themselves are old. They have latches and locks, but since the units are old themselves, I don't think you'll have much of a problem getting in if you really wanted to. Also, (this might not be true anymore) but the windows can be broken by frozen branches that fall off. There are a lot of trees and when it freezes, things can get bad in a hurry. 2/5
Construction: It's old. It's spacious. But is it nice craftsmanship-wise' Probably not that much. When my roommate and myself moved here there were a variety of problems that we needed fixed. Some units are better than others however. The better ones though are often used to show the very best rooms and aren't actually available for rent more often than not. There are some cracks and such hear and there but it is certainly livable and if kept up can be fairly decent. 3/5
Maintenance: Alright, so we have had problems in the past. It usually takes two trips to get the guy to come down to fix it in the first place. I assume he had other stops to make but after a few weeks, I almost feel certain that we were forgotten about. The repair guy is kinda weird though not really a bad person if you get to know him. However, we have had some issues that not only reoccur many times but some that were never fixed. Maintenance will fix something that is absolutely necessary but won't waste their time coming in for smaller repairs unless you make multiple requests. 1/5
Staff: So there are a lot of comments about Fred. Honestly, the guy gives me a bit of a bad vibe but hasn't shown any hostility or harshness. I have witnessed him with other people though and can say that he acts like he doesn't care about the tenets so long as they pay rent. I myself am never late so I haven't had a problem, but people who complain a lot or are late in payments are usually harassed by him. Long story short, he's sleazy and greedy. The rest of the staff is also nice and haven't really had a problem with them. I heard some women do complain about the staff but since I don't know them very well, I can't really vouch for the authenticity of the statements. Other than Fred, there really isn't a huge problem with the staff and have been helpful. 2.5/5
Price: Here is my entire point. The rent is cheap considering you live so close to the university and if desired could potentially walk there or ride a bike to events. However, you get what you pay for. It's cheap and its affordable and likewise the apartments will also be cheap and livable. 3/5
Overall: If you don't have much money, then this is the place to go. However, be warned that it is of much lower quality than it once was and this is reflected in the price. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this place unless you had nowhere else to go. Sink the extra fifty dollars to get a more decent place in Norman. It's worth it. 2/5

By the way aren't you the deadbeats who were evicted from #21?? I ask this because we all got tired of tripping over your trash in front of your apartment. Who else would take the time to write such a bunch of convoluted BS????
