I am a perspective tenant who filled out an application and made a deposit on a two bedroom apartment a few months before I wanted to move in. The man who runs the property seems to be doing everything around there: showing the apartments, maintenance, and leasing.
Perhaps this is why I've had such a hard time getting good service. This man promised me a couple of different apartments, and said that I could come in and sign the lease anytime, even before the move-in-date I listed on the application. I had to make two trips to give them a co-signers application, because I was not informed about all the needed documentation. It was also difficult to get a copy of the lease for my co-signer. The man said that if "I was trustworthy it shouldn't be a problem", which I found insulting. Who would want to sign a blank piece of paper taking responsibility for a lease they've never read'! I was a little annoyed, but decided to live with it.
I came in the weekend before my listed move-in date to sign my lease, and the man had supposed that I wanted a one bedroom and said that is what he "had ready for me", and that he would have to "jump through a lot of hoops to get a two bedroom ready". He's the same man who showed me the apartment layout twice!!! He also promised me two different two bedrooms in the time before I signed the lease. I don't know how he got everything so mixed up.
I showed up today to pick up the key, assuming that I even could, and he wasn't there again. (Every time I go in I have to wait around 15-20min on him). Needless to say, I'm rather annoyed and wish that I had time to find a new place to live. Hopefully, my living experience there will be better.
