I lived in these old apt ( build in 1945) for about 1 year and will never do that again. The management team is stupid, uneducated and even more stupid (specially the manager) . It s all about taking money out of your pocket. It takes about 1 week for then to send someone to fix your flooding toilet (just picture it). Me and the people on my unit have all decided to move out at the end of our lease. Today they will do anything to get people in. Please do yourself a favor, don t go live at Amerald greens. You deserve much better.

The apartments were originally built in 1940 to be exact but were remodeled in 1999. Paying rent is a requirement when you sign the lease and move in....so waiting until mid month to pay and management having to demand it does not make them money hungry. I have been told and experienced their 24 hr maintenance turn around guarantee but if they fail due to unforseen circumstances they will buy you dinner. I wonder if you demanded this dinner since it was such horrible service.

Correction to the correction: Only ONE of the buildings was built in 1940 - the mailboxes are on the north side of the building (2804, I believe). It was originally the BOQ for South Base. When my wife and I moved in mid-1998, most of the buildings had just been completed. The 1-bedroom buildings at the south end of the complex didn't even have doors on them! There was a building behind the office that had JUST been completed, and a couple of weeks after we moved in, it was torn down because of termites. Termites were a CONSTANT problem, as was mold. 24 hr. maintenance turn-around? Try taking a month to re-do the bathroom because of the mushrooms growing around the leaking toilet!! And to top it off, I had to put the door and the baseboard on myself! And the management LAUGHED each week I took a bag of mushrooms into the office to "remind" them that we had a toilet leak.
Let's not even mention the "revolving management staff/maintenance staff" - heck, we went through three management companies in two years, with the first company bailing out after 6 months!
Loud music? You betcha. College students were a good bet because parents paid the rent. As long as the money came in, it didn't matter what they did. The cops didn't do much either. Then there was the bomb-makers, the druggies, the dealers, the speeders, and the ones who couldn't find the damned dumpster if it had a neon flashing sign.
And to think we were considered their GOOD tenants. Wonder how we'd have gotten treated if we were one of the bad ones?! Emerald Greens was okay to start with, but once the Section Eighters started moving in, it was down-hill all the way.
