Depends on the Management....

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2007

I lived here for almost 3 years while a student at OU. I loved the location, the size, the price, and the layout of the apartments. It was also great to have 2 parking spots right in front of your apartment, and the neighbors on both sides of me were pretty nice and quiet. I never had any problems with noise in the bedrooms or living area, but I could hear neighbors through the dining room wall.
I never had any problems with safety during my time here, and in fact, when I moved in 2004, my roommate had been living there for a year, and never locked the door when she left! She never had any problems, and though I did make a habit of locking the apartment, I often left my car unlocked and never had any problems there either.

First year and a half, had bad management. Toilet overflowed (there were major problems with the sewer backing up at least once/month, and the carpet was flooded. They didn't even clean the carpet til the next day and refused to replace it. There were a few points where there was no maintence person on staff, the pool was always dirty, and the landscaping was in need of repair. Also, the laundry room would be opened several hours late and several times I came to get laundry only to find that the room had been locked early with my clothes locked inside!

After that, we got new management. They hired new maintainence people, who were very nice, starting fixing the landscaping, addressing the sewer issues, etc. They also finally replaced our stained carpet that the previous management had refused.
The month I was to move out, I filled out my move-out sheet, and turned it in to the nice friendly management. When I returned at the end of the month to collect my deposit, I found new management and office staff. They claimed that they had no record of my move-out sheet, and therefore I was in violation of the lease agreement, and would not get my deposit back, and needed to give them another 30 days notice or I would have to pay an additional fine. It took me a year to go through threatening legal action with them in order to get my deposit back--and I succeeded only because the previous good management had given me a copy of the move out sheet.
So, conclusion is, this apartment could be great or terrible, just depends on the management.
