Brown-recluse spider infestation

We lived in building 600 and fiddleback spiders were everywhere. We patiently waited for failed solution after failed solution to the problem. Walls, ceilings, tubs, kitchen...they were everywhere...especially in the spring (their mating season). There were nests in the breezeway on the top floor of our building and spiders crawling around on the outside of the building as well. You couldn't walk to the bathroom at night without turning on all the lights to make sure you wouldn't step on one. The month we left (July), we saw 32 brown-recluse spiders in our apartment. There's no telling how many were crawling around, hunting at night while we slept, that we never saw. Regular spiders are one thing, but potentially deadly ones are quite another.

Our lease finally ended and when we called about the situation (again), we were told that we still had to give a 30-day notice, despite the dangerous, uninhabitable living situation, and despite them knowing about the persistant problem. I called the office manager's boss, Beth Pogue, of MaxCap, and left a polite message for her to please return my call about the issue. She apparently didn't have the courtesy to do so, and had her assistant call me back and inform me that we still had to pay for the apartment for 30 days.

We considered sueing, but couldn't afford a lawyer after having to pay nearly $800 in rent, while also paying to live in a safer place. This situation could happen to you too if you live here. DON'T CHOOSE THIS COMPLEX OR ANY OTHER ONE MANAGED BY MAXCAP! They put profit above their residences health and well-being. It's just inhumane.

Other issues with this apartment include: dog poop is everywhere and no one enforces the "pick up the poop" policy, lack of adequate parking, pigeons are out of control, pool is often closed for repairs, and the security gate is constantly broken.
