Are you up for the "MOLD" challenge'

Wow, where to start' This is going to be long, so in summary'think really hard before you come here. Think, 'Am I up for the challenge' Do I like to live rough'' Living under in a cardboard box underneath an interstate overpass is a step up from Twin Creeks Village. At least you can change your box when it gets moldy!

Here is the comprehensive overview of Twin Creeks:

1) No ceiling lights in bedrooms.
2) Never miss morning appointments!! Broken, blinking floodlights keep you up at night and into the morning. Management like this property 'feature' so they don't even want to entertain the thought of fixing it.
3) Bathroom exhaust fans are just boxes with fans in them, they just blow the steam or stink in circles. Not out of the apt. Lovely, just lovely.
4) Could see out the front door when closed. Enough to make out visitors footwear.
5) Served for not paying rent TWICE when rent had been paid'in advanced! This reflects the generally incompetent management.
6) Worthless 'energy' windows'extremely sweaty and mildewy. These were replaced but the replacements leaked cold air and sweated even worse than the originals. Damn.
7) Speaking of energy, these two bedrooms are super efficient on electricity what with their 20 year old appliances. Only $120 a month on average! Even when you're on vacation for a solid month expect an electric bill of around $80. You can't beat those prices.
8) Broken down fridge that took months to replace'with an equally as worthless replacement.
9) Broken water main that took months to discover. The water had been reported but they 'just couldn't figure out where it came from.' By the time they discovered it was a broken main, the empty apt. behind us was ruined and our kitchen had to be gutted and hastily redone. The only reason they were quick to act was because they found BLACK mold and mildew growing under the kitchen sink. They steam bleached the kitchen without warning and nearly suffocated our infant son. Our lungs burned for days.
10) We were offered a new unit in Twin Creeks after our mold debacle, so we looked around. One word to summarize that search: Scary. Weird smells (I wondered if they cleaned the carpets with cat urine), rotting wood, and even more water damaged apt.'s. Not to mention the spraying toilet leak we found in another empty apt.
11) One key fits all. This includes mailboxes and neighbors apt. Is this what they mean by equal opportunity housing''
12) Cool air conditioner with an 'always-on' feature. Even when the heat is on. FANTASTIC! This undocumented ice machine would often freeze up and flood our kitchen 'pantry.'
13) Pool was closed for 'cleaning' all summer. Since water/sewer/trash bill is divided amongst all of the occupied units everyone had a tremendous summer water bill for all of the 'free' refills on the pool.
14) There were no less than four property managers in the 9 months we were there. One left because he was physically assaulted by our lovely neighbor.
15) Speaking of neighbors, the apartment next to ours must be cursed. We had an abusive, loud couple first (see above) and when they were evicted, they saw it fit to punish us by renting to a gang of pot-smoking teenagers. We weren't even sure who the tenants were there were so many ruffians there. In and out at all hours of the night being loud and smoking copious amounts of ganja which seemed to make them very paranoid. They would open their door and peer out every time we pulled up in our car. They also loved to see what kind of dinner we were having because we would often see them staring in our living room window slack-jawed and drooling. This could have been a side effect of their smoking habits but I wouldn't know. Their smell eventually seeped in under the sturdily constructed walls (note sarcasm). Thankfully the management was on top of this problem and had them evicted after all of the other tenants in a two building radius complained and threatened to move.
16) Good covered parking! It will protect your car when the dying trees on the property randomly keel over dead. No kidding. That is, if you can find a spot. Good luck there champ.
17) The only good thing about twin creeks is the friendly maintenance crew. By the end of our stay we knew everyone by first name. We also knew how many kids they each had, where they grew up as children, who their mommies were and OH GOD! They were really nice though. They felt extremely sorry for us and all of our troubles and seemed ashamed (as they should be) that they had been stuck at this property-hell by their overlords at McSha.

In retrospect...I don't know what we were thinking when we moved here!! P0MtU6TIdDkM23RTonAS
