I've lived at the Commons for 2 years, and it's truly been a horrible experience. Our rent is exorbitant ($555 per person per month) and while our utilities are "included" my roommate and I have gone over every month and been charged additional fees for it. When we tried to contact the office about what we thought were unfair charges, we were only given the run-around.
The Commons were recently bought out by a larger corporation, and they have cut the hours of the maintenance staff, who now only work from 9-5 Monday thru Friday. I had a smoke alarm go off on a Saturday, and the girl in the office wouldn't call in an emergency maintenance request because she didn't think a smoke alarm was an "emergency"!
The Commons are very very noisy, and people throw loud, raucous, DANGEROUS parties most nights of the week. There have been several incidents were the cops or even paramedics have been called out, and I never feel safe walking from my car late at night.
The biggest complaint I have, however, is that the maintenance and office staff enter our apartment regularly without our consent or knowledge for "routine maintenance" or "inspections" that we are usually not informed of beforehand. I've had maintenance men just walk into the apartment while I was in the shower because I couldn't hear the door. It's very disconcerting, and makes me feel completely unsafe. We've never had anything stolen, but the fact is it would be very easy for them to do so.
