I'm a grad student and have lived here for a year and a half. Overall, I have been incredibly happy living here. Yes, they are old but they are also very large which makes up for it. You get a large apartment for a decent price. The management is ok. The main problem I had with them was that I paid rent late once (1 day late) and they told me to add a $50 late fee. No problem. I brought it to the office right away. The next day, I get an eviction notice on my door saying that I didn't pay rent, etc. I called and the woman I spoke to told me I needed to pay with a money order. Well, no one told me that before but I went and got one and everything worked out.

My apartment flooded 3 times, which was VERY frustrating. However, it rained in Norman more than it ever had before. It was a state record so understandably they weren't prepared for it. However, it should have gotten fixed the first time. Management wasn't that helpful on this issue, however maintenance was. They have been wonderful. The head maintenance man came over to my apartment at 3am twice because of the flooding. He was quick to help any way he could until the carpet company could come that morning to suck out the water, etc. He helped me move furniture, etc. He even suggested I demand a new apartment, however management said they didn't have any available.

Overall, I've liked living here. I'm a very easygoing person and besides the flooding incident, nothing bad has happened. Maintenance is always nice and comes very quickly within my calling the office. Once my heater wasn't working so the maintenance man came to try and fix it. He realized it needed a new thermostat so he went to Lowe's right then and bought one and came back and immediately installed it.

As long as you pay your rent on time and don't have to deal with management too much it's fine. I would say the maintenance staff run the place better than the management! However, I would recommend this place for someone looking for a decent apartment for a good price.

Also, the grounds staff are out about twice a week mowing and trimming the landscaping. They put in a lot of effort to keep the grass, etc looking well-maintained.

I have never felt unsafe and I'm a young female living by myself on the first floor.

Last thing. The management really depends on who you are interacting with. Some have been helpful and kind, some haven't. One time the pool was closed because they were fixing the chemical balance in it and the management still let me lay out by the pool. That was really nice of them.
