I lived in the Augusta from 2000 until 2005. It is an older complex and with that you do have age issues but it was not horrible when I moved in. The location was ideal for me, the rent a tad high but manageable and the then management team did an excellent job in responding and resolving issues. Sometime around 2003 or 2004 (estimate) another company bought the complex. That is when it started going downhill. Maintenance still responded quickly. But my a/c unit leaked condensation inside the walls. The maintenance guy who was on call that weekend told "they just do that". I came home one day and found a notice that I had a certain amount of time to pay my late rent plus penalties or I would be evicted. I paid my rent on time. Instead of checking that I'd never been late in my rent in all the years I'd been there or pick up the phone to ask, they plastered this notice on my door where everyone who could walk by would see it. I was furious and longer story short it was their computer glitch. That was the second time it happened. But the first time it was the other management company and the manager then called me. She was very apologetic and sorry to bother me but she knew I'd never been late and needed to confirm. Again a computer glitch. Don't expect that kind of courtesy or sensitivity from this bunch. And my biggest complaint of all is the new management company collects a deposit from you but they don't mention it isn't refundable no matter how clean your apartment is. I made sure my apartment was clean enough a new tenant could move right in (except it needed to be repainted). I called to ask when I might expect my deposit back and the new employee said oh we don't give deposits back. I wonder if she was supposed to tell me'' So in other words, it's a FEE not a deposit. And finally, I would have moved from there no matter what just because of the school that was being built across the street. I predict that area will really decline in value once it's open. Oh one more thing, the steps have been known to break with a person walking on them. Be very careful.
