Nice Place, but Terrible Contract Labor

My husband and I lived in the Augusta apartments for less than a year, and broke our lease early to buy a house. For the first several months, everything went smoothly at the apartments. The pool is beautiful and maintenance and security were always prompt and courteous. Then, in summer, they started doing all kids of repairs to the buildings. The contractors the Augusta employs are unprofessional and do a lousy job. When our building was being painted, spray got all over my black car. When I discovered this, we went to the office where they quickly directed us to the contractor. The contractor tried to weasel out of paying, but ended up refunding us the cost to get the paint buffed out. Next indident occured when our apartment was being re-roofed; the crew for this job was just unbelievable. They stripped the old roofing material off and threw them on the ground, leaving piles 3 feet deep of materials, with staples and nails poking out, all over the entire walkway for hours at at time. Everyone in our bulding had to step over the mess to get to the parking lot. The last straw occured when I attempted to walk my tiny dog; as I was leaving my apartment, some fool dropped a large box full of material directly off of the two-story roof and onto the walkway without so much as a "look out below." The box landed about 3 feet away from my dog, and would have killed him had he been any farther down the walk. I was hysterical and called the office, where they promised to talk to the workers about picking up and safety. I'm sure they followed up, but the fact remains that someone could have been killed by the carelessness of the workers. People in our building had kids!!
These incidents ruined any positive impression I had of the apartment. Poor contract labor is just that; cheap and lousy and bad for business.

Thanks, for the tip, becasue I was thinking about living there, but after hearing and reading your input, I have changed my mind. I am glad you and your dog are safe, and sorry to hear about all the crazy events that took place while you lived there. Well, hope you are settled in a house where you never have to encounter such things and Congratulations with your new home.

The contract labor has nothing to do with these apartments, and really shouldn't have an influence on the rating.
