I have been living in Brookwood since May 2007, and while this place holds some good memories for me (this was the last place I lived with my father before he died), I really can not wait to move out. The pros for the place is that I do have quite a bit of square footage. However, I am paying almost $770 a month,and I simply can not afford this anymore.

Let's begin with my neighbors. Thee is a review from July where a woman complained of noisy neighbors - I think they might be part of the same group. The first weekend I was there, my walls VIBRATED their music was so loud. After THREE calls to courtesy patrol, they finally turned it down. . at four that morning. I have had toleave my apartment MULTIPLE times because of their music, and the patrol does abosoutly nothing. I have even turned them into management. This is absolutly ridiculous.

One other thing that got me about the managment might not be a big thing to other people, but I found it tasteless - A week or so ago, one of my neighbors found a kitten locked in the top dryer. Now, I know cats like to get in those places to keep warm,but these dryers are taller than I am,and this was a literal baby. WHen she went to the management to ask what she might do about it, they told her "Just let it go. It will fend for itself."

My other huge complaint is I was overcharged. When I moved in, I paid my bills and they told me that was it. I went out of town for the folowing month, so I decided to pay my rent early. When I got back, there was a note onmy door saying I had a day to pay my rent before they moved me out. I went up there, complained, and was told that the credit card machine had gone on the fritz and my rent was not taken. Wonderful. For the next two months, every time I went to pay my rent, they tacked me with some new charge I supposidly had not paid. It was only after I pulled out my records and proved to them I had paid, they stopped charging me. If you move in, be VERY CAREFUL of this, and KEEP ALL YOUR RECORDS. That is extremely important.

I do not care for the maitenence at all. Every time they have been in to fix something in my apartment, they leave their trash for me to dispose of. My apartment had some water damage when the "hurricane" hit, and they pulled up my carpet, and left it sitting in my bushes. A week ago, they changed the air filters, and the dirty ones were laying on top of my stairs when I got home.

I do love the area, and the complex is absoltuly huge. Very pretty. Brookwood does have it's faults,but no apartment complex is completely perfect. Would I move back here. . Mmm, I might. But not any time soon.

Pros: Nice space, somewhat cheap price
Cons: Lousy patrol, management isn't the best, maitence is pathetic and messy.
