My boyfriend and I rented their two bedroom townhome for 6 months and we're both glad to be moving out.
When they give you a tour of the place, they make it a point to tell you that they have 9 laundry facilities and it's very inexpensive to wash and dry, and that they are kept locked. That "locked" part is a total lie- the doors are usually wide open day and night. And, since the apartments have been there since the 1970's, everybody and their dog that has ever lived there still does their laundry there... meaning there are never any washers or dryers free. And if they do by chance happen to be free, they are broken. Not to mention the mysterious clothes thieves. I don't know who they are or when they come in, but nearly every time you wash clothes there, something like a pair of jeans or a sweater will end up missing.
One nice thing, however, is that each apartment comes with an alarm, you just have to have a home phone line to have it active, and most people now do not have home phones. The security "guard" is this worthless 300 lbs slob that will sit in his truck and drive around the complex from 6pm to 6am and play with his cell phone the whole time. I'm sure if you bribed him with a donut, he'd drive the other way while you break into somebody's car.
Maintenance is fair. You call them, they come out. That's about it for that. They will assume unless you tell them otherwise that they have permission to enter your apartment while you are not home, so if you are uncomfortable with it, tell them when you call in your maintenance request.
And there was this heifer of a neighbor of ours that claimed she would watch our plants (which were already dead) while we were gone. We come back home a few days later, and the cool planters (and dead plants) were hidden behind the bushes by her apartment door. Some neighbor. Yup that security guard really comes in handy.

Ew. Rude people like you deserve an apartment like this. Class match. You get what you pay for.
