10 glorious months of HELL!! I don't even know where to begin, so here I go:
1. Was told my apartment would have new carpet. When I arrived with the moving van, the carpet was older than me and BLUE! Mgmt said they hadn't gotten around to replacing it, but that I would still be responsible for steam-cleaning it before I moved out or they would take it out of my deposit.
2. Roaches, roaches everywhere. I could barely sleep at night for fear one would crawl across me. I even had to inspect my X-mas present sacks under the tree before taking them to people and found dead roaches in nearly every one. The foreign guy next door's apartment was so filthy that even the maintenance guy was grossed out. Hmmm....wonder where the roaches were coming from'!'! Mgmt didn't spray once the entire time I was there. I bombed the place myself and it helped a little.
3. Old woman downstairs sat outside her door in a (grossly) threadbare night gown all day and night, chainsmoking with her legs wide open. God forbid you walk through the breezeway, because whether she knew you or not, you had to hear her life story. She even quizzed visitors on which apartment they were headed to. Mgmt response' "She's just old and bored" That's great when my friends won't come over because she freaks them out.
4. Parking is a total nightmare. So is security. My car was broken into, the "security gates" are always open and there's always kids riding on them when they are working. I finally asked mgmt if the gates were there to keep the trash in or out. They didn't like that, but there was some serious trash living in these apartments.
5. The week I moved in, my bathtub wouldn't drain. Thank GOD maintenance was on the ball this time. It took 5 trips to my apartment and bringing in a professional plumber to get it done right, but at least it got done.
6. My downstairs neighbor kept the volume of his TV so high that I had to turn my way up just to hear it at all. I could also hear my next door neighbor pee in the morning. Very thin walls and floors/ceilings.
I wouldn't recommend these apartments to any female living alone. I saw quite a bit of gang activity and shady characters. I feel that I gave this place a fighting chance and it failed miserably.
