Nice location, nice in-complex bar/restaurant, decent staff

Deep Deuce is probably downtown Oklahoma City's newest complex, or it was when I lived there. The buildings are new, generally quiet, and cater to young people.

There's a bar in the middle of the complex with pretty good food, friendly staff you'll get to know, and good beer (a rare find in Oklahoma!). The downside is that it's smokey, kind of expensive, and not open late enough. But on a late afternoon, hanging out on the patio with beer and a burger, it's simply paradise.

The staff are good about somethings. Example: I had a neighbor from hell just above me. Just when I'd go to bed, at around 11 or midnight, he would get up and start making huge crashing noises. I later found out he was wrestling, and those crashing noises were him throwing his opponent (or whatever) on the ground. The good news is, the apartment complex gave him a handful of warnings, then evicted him, without me having to really complain much. If you have any noise problems, they have an on-site 24/7 security guard who can anonymously deliver the complaint -- and effectively too.

The apartments themselves are generally beautiful, with huge tubs and bathrooms, good fixtures, and lots of light. The staff are helpful and professional.

One downside to consider: Expect to travel great distances for basic services like groceries and department stores. Unlike most downtowns, you can expect to greatly INCREASE your overall driving, even if you work downtown. There are no grocery stores, no department stores, no anything stores within a fairly large radius, and you have to go even further for a decent grocery store. (Probably Albertsons on May.) This isn't the fault of the apartments, but downtown Oklahoma City is a massive failure of a downtown -- the office towers are vacant by 5:30 and "bricktown" is just a drinking destination for pretentious north-siders.
