Minor drawbacks to an otherwise nice place

Note: I have not lived here. This review is to help you if you have not yet visited the property. This was one of my top 5 choices, but I ended up not going with it for the reasons below.

Driving up to Heritage Park gives you a good feeling about the place. It isn't brand new, but looks well kept. The vehicle gates were operational and locked properly, but the walk-in fence gates were not. The office staff was very friendly, personable, and helpful.

We looked at a 2 bed/2 bath unit. GREAT NEWS FOR TALL PEOPLE! The shower heads are up high and won't hit you mid-back! The apartments are nice and have plenty of storage space. Washers and dryers are included in the units and there is no additional fee for them. Everything was very spacious, and the master bedroom closet was bigger than the actual rooms in some places I looked at. The outdoor patio was also large enough to actually have a little table and chairs.

However, here's the bad news: we could smell spicy food cooking as soon as we walked *into* the model apartment. I couldn't smell it outside before we went in, or again when we left. Based on other reviews here, this led me to think that the place must have thin walls and very little insulation. The leasing agent didn't have any information about the cost of electricity, water, or gas -- none of which is included in the rental price. She said we could call the companies and see how much it ran.
Although the base price is nice for what you're getting, don't forget that you will be paying for gas every month for the hot water and heater.

Overall the landscape and upkeep was nothing special, and somewhat in need of upkeep. Paint was coming off of the iron fencing and there was trash blowing around. Even the leasing office was messy and felt dirty.

If smells and noise from adjacent apartments don't bother you, and it wouldn't stress you to have slightly higher heating/cooling bills, I would definitely recommend Heritage Park.

slightly higher? Hardly! We paid about $200 to $250 for gas each month in the winter, and we had the thermostat at 68 degrees.
