Run away...fast.
Everytime I see a potential resident sitting at the front desk, I want to grab them like they're a potential domestic violence victim and say, "Stay out of this relationship!"
We've been here 6 months and the gym is still not fixed, the main workout machine is in shambles-- when you ask management, they sheepishly grin and say they're waiting on bids for a new machine. Before that, the cocky manager in charge then said she was trying to get a repair man out...that took 3 months before she left-- with no repair! Now, it's been 6 months with no bids, no gym. We want Lakeview to buy us a gym membership! Buy a new workout machine already.
I told this to the new girl at the desk..."well, we have to wait on corporate..." Uh huh. Excuses. Passive excuses. A gym you say' Whoopie' Well, it's all about Lakeview's word. They actually show the (broken) gym on potential renter's tours.
The laundry room is a mess, often 2-3 dryers are not working and 3-4 washers trickle out water and leak all over the floor. Your 25 minute wash unexpectedly takes 90 minutes.
Gas Leak on one floor...can still smell it. Residents have complained of major plumbing problems (you learn a lot in the elevator) that have resulted in some apartments flooding during storms. The front lobby usually smelled moldy; I think lately the maangement has been using a scented candle or something.
Recent water pump problems over the weekend with no water...all we got was a scribbled note in the elevator "sorry for the inconvenience..." the maintenance men ran around like chickens with their heads cut off, obviously out of their league-- no one thought to call a specialist and pay the darn extra on-call fee for a real commercial plumber to get the entire tower's water back.
Management just doesn't care.
During the summer, the elevator ride was a constant lamentation from other residents that the A/C was woefully inadequate.
Please, save yourself the trouble, do not come to this dump. The place feels like it's falling apart.
We're getting out when the lease is up.
