New management is not good

My roommate and I have lived here for three years now. The apartments were spacious and for a decent price, so being college students we took it. The location is convenient (right off I-240). But that's about the good of it. Management prior to January was fantastic and helpful, but the property has changed ownership. The new ones are not friendly, and they just raised our price for gas, water, and trash from a reasonable cap of 35 a month to 72. We didn't even use 72 dollars worth during the winter! Half the washers and dryers are broken in the laundromat so we are constantly waiting. This is not that safe of a place either. We've moved within the complex because our last place was broken into and robbed. The parking lot floods but one perk is the covered parking. There's always domestic disputes going on and people yelling. We're missing screens on windows, had our AC or heater break at both apts at least once. The staff keeps trying to charge us more for stuff, and are very impersonal. we wrote out a check for rent five dollars short on accident and they pounded on our door and left a note. Rather than calling or talking with us nicely. We're moving to a nicer apartment for about the same price after you include the ridiculous gas bill. I'll miss the big townhouse w/ many closets, but at least I'll be safer and a nicer place and appliances.

I know that the previous management capped off some of the utilities at a certain amount so while you were paying $35, my family and I had a variance sometimes going as high as $150, so I am thankful for the average amount, I know that I will be paying every month. Also the washers and dryers were in the same condition BEFORE the new management took over, as well as window screens and such. And all the people that are causing the domestic disputes lived here way before new management came in, so the blame for them should lie with the old team. I love it here and will not be moving soon.
