I know many people complain, including myself about living at Mayfair. I have been living here for over 4 years and have seen changes throughout. Since it is privately owned, you have to be on them to fix things. I have been through 3 managers and each one was different in how they handled things, Rochelle is the current manager and she does work to get things fixed. She even hired a new maintence man who is very capable. But remember too that these apartments were built before AC was invented. My husband and I love our apartment. We know our neighbors and yes, we have a few "interesting" neighbors but overall when rent is as cheap as it is, you can't expect a lot of luxury. Expect a flood outside everytime it rains, expect a roach problem in the summer (close off the drain pipes when not in use), and normally you will also get a few mice until you close up all the gaps the apartment has because of its age. But you also get Beautiful hard wood floors, a quiet street, and the fire department right down the street. I would suggest the apartment to someone who wants to buy a house because it starts to teach you what problems homeowners have to deal with; but if you are looking for luxury, spend the extra $$$$ and go to another apartment complex.
