It's a lot of space for the price, which makes these apartments very tempting. But they have their share of problems.
It's a bad area, but personally that didn't bother me. What did bother me was the RIDICULOUS courtesy patrol! The guy is a TOTAL jerk. He has literally sat by the back door of our apartment to make sure we did nothing wrong. He has harassed SEVERAL of my guests, and told my bf he could make him leave for LITERALLY NO REASON AT ALL. He's harassed me about wether or not I actually live there.. ridiculous. And he wrote up a lease violation because he claims people were smoking pot in a car in front of my apartment. Was it in my apartment' No. Was I even there' No, so how is that my problem' The guy is a COMPLETE joke and no offense, seems mentally challenged. He accused us several times of speeding, which is absurd if you've ever seen the speed bumps surrounding that complex. They are HUGE and there are tons, even if I go literally 5mph.. my car still scrapes against the pavement. It's pretty much IMPOSSIBLE to even speed in that complex. The man is an incompetent fool. The one time he was actually needed, my roomie called the number and he never showed up.
The apartment looks fairly decent, but the work on it is pretty shotty. There were still fixtures laying on the floor when I moved in, and even an oven IN THE DINING ROOM, and shower doors not yet attached, etc. The linoleum floors have been peeling up everywhere, though absolutely nothing was done by us to cause this. The painting job is awful, and some of the cabinets were painted shut or just plain gross. The doors chip out wood completely randomly. AND THE DOWNSTAIRS (kitchen/ dining room) FLOODS! Pretty frequently too, and it's nearly impossible to stop it.
Also, the master bedroom shower ever-so-often leaks into the downstairs bathroom/ kitchen. I called emergency maintenance and left messages, and they never showed up.
Management is quite kind though, and it's a fairly decent place for the money. I wouldn't live there again though, not by any means.
