I live in Pheasant Run Apartments, across the street from Pheasant Run Villas. Both are managed by the same company but there is a difference in layout and size, and of course cost.

The one bedroom I live in has a walk-in closet with built in shelves, that is the greatest thing ever, I can fit all my stuff! The kitchen is a little dark but its manageable if you turn other lights, like the dining area light, on. The carpets are a little stained here and there but nothing you can't live with.

The landscaping is gorgeous and the only problem with maintenance is that it seems like the last three months they have been constantly doing repairs on the pipes, which means one area or another on the property is always in a state of being dug up and at least once or twice a month you have a problem with no running water, can't even flush the toilet!

It is mostly older people here which is actually a plus cause they're quiet and they keep an eye on things. They have social events from time to time which are cute, the play card games in the office and things like that.

There is only one laundry room per building with just one washer/dryer but usually not a problem getting your stuff in there.

The sliding door to the balcony and front window are drafty, which is unfortunate, on a really windy day you can really feel it.

** Editing my original post **
Lived here from 2006-2007 but can't edit that on the post for whatever reason...

The apartments are really starting to show their age. Mine was, beyond being drafty, starting to show mold along the baseboards -- that was where the wall started to cave in a bit and all the moisture leaked into the apartment. All they did was slap on a little plaster. That was after complaining *numerous* times until I finally got maintenance to come in. Also complained about the drafty sliding door but they did nothing about that, no attempt to seal it better, nothing. Bugs would crawl in, even when it was shut all the way, it was that bad. Heating and cooling bills were too high. Should have paid a bit more to go with a newer apartment at another complex (something built more recently). Water got shut off too often and with little notice, they were always digging in the courtyard trying to fix the pipes.

They are "racist" - granted its borderline but it was still out of line. Quoting from another post but I experienced it while I was staying there too, and I have no proof because they never overtly commented on my race but I felt I was unfairly picked on the second year I lived there.

Here is proof of them being out of line though and borderline racist:

"....management took it upon themselves to send out fliers to all of the apartments asking people to please cook less odorous food and save the 'exotic' foods for when they eat out. That is by far the most ignorant thing I had ever seen."

Man I wish I had kept that flier... I'm sure something could have been done legally on that one.

I'd only recommend it if you're white, 50 , can't afford anything else.. it was pretty looking out the window and not too bad if you're at work most of the time and have a husband to kill the crickets for you. I still liked the closet space.

THE MEMO WAS WRITTEN BECAUSE APARTMENTS MANY TIMES SHARE COMMON VENTS AND ETHNIC COOKING ODORS ARE NOT ALWAYS A SHARED APPRECIATION. THE REQUEST HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH RACISM, IT WAS A WAY TO LET PEOPLE KNOW THAT APT LIVING SHARE SMELLS AS WELL AS NOISE AND TO POSSIBLY CONSIDER OTHERS WHEN COOKING ITEMS OF STRINGENT SMELLS...OBVIOUSLY THE READER HAS SOME TYPE OF PERSONAL PROBLEM
