Horrible experience!

The other reviews here are right. I leased because of the low prices, but I never felt safe living here. You can hear everything through the walls: neighbors using the bathroom, walking, arguing. Just before I moved out, a visiting friend heard the guys who had just moved in upstairs dealing drugs. About a month after these guys moved in, someone tried to kick my door in. There was mold growing out of the walls in the tub and behind the sinks. The upstairs apartment's water tank broke about 2 months into my 6 month lease, and flooded my apartment; after that, mold would grow out of that wall throughout the apartment if I didn't bleach the walls weekly. I had to file about three maintenance requests for every one problem before anything was done. Some maintenance requests - such as the burnt out fluorescent light in my kitchen - were never fixed, and then I was sent a bill for them after moving out.
When I tried to move out due to the new neighbors' drug activity and the attempted break-in and mold, management told me I needed to give a month's notice. They refused to do anything to fix any of the problems I'd reported. I was renting month-to-month at this time and wanted to move out at the end of the month I'd already paid for. I spoke w/ any attorney who said, since management had not responded to my maintenance requests for the mold and since there were some threats to my safety there, that I was required by law to give one week's notice before I could rightfully move. I gave 2 weeks. Management insisted they didn't have their copy of the maintenance request (implying that is wasn't file), even though I had the carbon copies from when I reported it. They said I didn't have the right to move and threatened to turn me over to a credit agency.
I came home from work the day before I moved out to find a polaroid photo lying in my living room. Management had dropped it there when they snuck in earlier that day and taken pictures of my apartment. That was creepy.

They still sent me bills asking for rent after I moved out. I never got any of my deposit back, despite the fact I hadn't caused any damage to my mold-filled apartment - but figured that was worth it just to get out of that hellhole.

These apartments are horrible! The prices aren't worth it.
